AUDIENCE RESPONSE SYSTEM

The Media Center has a total of up to 220 wireless keypads that can be used for polling groups through an add-in for MS-PowerPoint.

Receivers for the keypads are installed in the podium computers in the three main lecture halls in Light Hall, Rooms 202, 208 and 214. The add-in for PowerPoint, TURNING POINT, is also loaded on the podium computers. For other venues, a portable laptop computer with receiver and software is also available.

Programing of questions is as simple as creating a slide in PowerPoint. The TURNING POINT application actually runs on top of PowerPoint and provides an extra menu bar from which all the tools needed to create YES/NO and Multiple Choice questions can be found.

The TURNING POINT software can be downloaded and installed to your desktop or laptop computer. When you have created your presentation with questions, it can be copied to one of the lecture hall computers by use of a "thumb" drive or any other USB storage device.

To download the software go to "http://turningtechnologies.com/downloadsoftware.htm"

Choose the "Turning Point 2006 Software Download" and follow the instructions.

When you start Turning Point for the 1st time, you will need to ACTIVATE your copy. Instructions on how to do this are provided here "http://turningtechnologies.com/pdf/support_revised/Activate_in_Evaluation_Mode.pdf"

The Turning Technologies site also provides extensive on line help in how to use the software. For most users, the "Quickstart Guide" should be sufficient.

Training and assistance with programing can also be provided by the Media Center - depending on scheduling and availability.
